What does the X number on the Horn Comb pages mean? (e.g. 1X, 2X, 3X, etc.)

The letter X is used to show you the thickness choices available on our horn combs (link opens new tab); it can be seen as a light-to-heavy scale that is specific to that horn comb style. Some people know that they like a certain weight or solidity to the tool(s) they use, but if you don’t have a preference you can ask DrLonghair® (who had these carved) for a recommendation. Other than that, if you like a rich feeling in your combs, go for a higher number (e.g. 3X), but for scritchers, stay at 1X or less.
