And no, doing it anyway (the ‘more is better’ approach) will not give you even more shine. The important ingredients in the Longhairs® products (link opens new window) will not soak in right or fall into place in the right times if you do a cool rinse; we just don’t need that sort of ‘help’ like your old products did.
